Dear scouts, fellow scouters,
and parents,
Well here we are again
starting our new scouting year together. I would
like to take this opportunity to welcome all of
our old scouts, leaders and parents back. I know
most of you attended our August pack meeting and
I welcomed you then, but you deserve to be
recognized again. I also want to welcome our new
scouts, leaders, and their parents to our pack.
We have had a very successful recruiting year.
We have registered 53 scouts and several leaders.
We have more than double the size of our pack
from the summer months. We currently have 79
scouts registered with our pack. Great job!
Hats off to all of the leaders who had anything
to do with our recruitment this year! This could
not be done without your help. I also want to
thank our scouts who either wore their uniform to
school and/or helped by being greeters at the
school nights. This is your way of helping our
pack to go.
As we told everyone that
signed up and all of the leaders and parents that
came to our planning meeting, this year is all
about the scouts having FUN. Browsing through
the program helps, there are a lot of good
monthly themes this year for us to provide a fun
and educating program. This year you will see
more skits being performed by our dens at the
monthly pack meetings. I think this is a good
tool to get the kids comfortable standing in
front of a crowd. It is also very entertaining
for us to watch as well.
Besides the monthly pack
meetings, as you saw on the calendar of events,
there are plenty outside opportunities for our
scouts and their families to participate in. We
will be going to the Zoo, camping overnight at
Nicholls. In October going camping in MS at
Salmen Reservation. Just plenty of things to
do. If a parent has an idea for an event, please
attend one of the monthly committee meetings so
that we can discuss the event. We are always
open to new ideas and suggestions.
Once again I want to
welcome you all. Our pack has the ability to be
fun and educating this year. As it will say on
our new pack t-shirts, Pack 453 Fun… With A
Purpose! We can not get all of this done without
YOUR help. So please if you have not already
done so, step up and help out pack to “go and
grow”.
